Re skin colour changes. My good Aunt Olga consumed truly massive
amounts of parsley and carrot juice in her "tiger shakes". She would
go through bushels of it. Both are rich in beta-carotene, which can
be toxic in very high amounts. She took her stroke-ridden husband to
the Mayo Clinic and had their most expensive and thorough tests and
examinations herself. When they told her the results the clinic
director said "We seldom see someone your age in such good health.
Everything is in order. the only thing that puzzles us is your skin
is so yellow." She lived to 95. Tiger shakes had lecithin, soya
powder, masses of parsley and carrot, various ground up vitamin and
mineral pills, and tasted quite gruesome until you added banana and
honey to it. She stopped eating potatoes at about age 30 when she
latched onto Dr. Roger's diet - an early follower of Scientology or
dianetics, I think.
