Gardeners who are still here,
First off, thanks for all the
work that you have put into the garden. It's been a great year, and
there's an excellent harvest ahead.

                                          Yesterday I went out and
planted in the southeast corner, formerly the experimental weed patch. I
planted dwarf horticultural beans in the middle of the patch, then
covered them with a layer of compost that had been left over from last
week. They should be ready by Halloween. Next I sowed plenty of radishes
in the north half of the patch. They should be ready by the end of
September. Finally, I gambled on two short rows of early beets, those
went in the south (closest to the creek) and should also be ready in
late October, just before the beans. I hope to re-plant that section
with winter wheat.

Is anyone else interested in planting fall crops? We have space
in the pea section, and those lettuces are bolting.
