Thanks for passing this along Maddy.

I don't know if my thoughts need to be added but I'll add them anyways;)

I think it comes back to reconnecting with the seasonality of foods.
Maybe the real question should be do we need to be eating fresh
tomatoes and lettuce in December?  Not that I'm a purist or anything
but you can provide for a pretty diverse diet locally without having
to import foods just by preserving food over the growing season.  Some
foods like bananas and coconuts, maybe these aren't really possible
locally, but substitution is still an option that people forget about.
 Just food for thought;)
