Hey gang,

Thought I'd remind y'all about the food issues
lecture this Thursday. Might be a good event to
pick up some more garden recruits.

Cheers,
Evan

WPIRG Presents...

The Global Food Economy: The Battle for the Future of Farming
Start time: 7:00pm End time: 9:00pm
Thursday, September 25
CEIT 1015, University of Waterloo

While the Global North experiences record
breaking rates of obesity, ¬the prevalence of
high-calorie, processed fast food and stunning
amounts of wasted food, poverty and
malnourishment plague the Global South resulting
in food riots, food shortages and sky-rocketing
food prices.

Questions are sure to emerge. Is the
global food crisis new? What are the forces
leading up to the problems in food distribution?
And most importantly, what can be done to stop
the impending crisis?

Join Dr. Tony Weis, Author of "The Global Food
Economy: The Battle for the Future of Farming" as
he explores the problems with the economics of
food globally.
