I would say we can give up a fair number of leeks, but it would be
nice if we kept some for ourselves (maybe one of the two beds?) As we
learned last year we can eat them in the spring. Having said that I
have no big problems with giving away leeks if FnB can put them to
delicious use.
Other things to take might be some of those delicious football-shaped
cherry tomatoes, some of the green beans, and even nasturtium leaves
and flowers if FnB wants to make an "adventure salad". Not to put
words in the garden consensus mouth, but I suspect FnB is also
welcome to all the herbs they can carry, and any groundhogs they
happen to come across.
Weren't there a few beds of spanish onions that we planted? They must
still be there. Some of them could probably be picked and used.
Personally I think that the sales at the UW farm market have been less
satisfying than giving food to FnB, but I guess there is no reason we
can't do both.
