Directions, you say? No problem!
So, they're official address is:
7387 Sideroad 14, Ariss, ON
It's the corner of Sideroad 14, and Second Line E, near-ish to the Ariss
Valley Golf course and Ponsonby School.
Google Maps sucks at finding it. If you want, put this into the search
bar and that'll basically be at their driveway: 43.614704,-80.36696
You can get a decent satellite picture of the area, so you have a better
idea of where things will be.
Since I don't know where people will be coming from, I'll give
directions from all angles, and try to cover the more main roads.
>From this area it'll take about 30 minutes.
>From Guelph, it's about 15 minutes.
If you get lost, just call my parents at (519) 824-2878. Ask for my dad
(Roman) and he should be able to get you where you need to be. He knows
these roads quite well.
>From the Garden
Follow me! (PS: I have room for 3 comfortably, 4 if you want to get
cozy in the back seat)
OR
Turn right onto Westmount which will turn into Northfield Drive.
Follow this out to Conostogo, and hang a right at the lights/Sawmill Rd.
(there's only one set of lights)
There's an odd corner (it's called Crowsfoot) and it's sort of like
this:
Crowsfoot Rd.\ |
\ |Sawmill Rd.
\|
-------------|
County Rd. 23|
|
Take Crowsfoot (or if you fear gravel/bumpy roads, take County Rd. 23).
Pass 2 stop signs, get to the lights. This will be Line 86. It goes
through Elmira, and on to Guelph. You'll drive straight through the
lights (if you're coming from Elmira, turn left at these lights. If you
see the golf course, you've gone too far!). This road is now Wellington
Road 51.
Take the second left. It'll be 4th Line (I'd say take 2nd Line because
it's paved, but there's a spot that's gravel so you gain nothing by
taking it... Plus 4th Line is 80km/h :) ). It's just before you start
climbing up a hill, which is before the "Silvercreek Extension" or
Wellington Rd. 39.
Take the first right. This will be Sideroad 14. Remember, this is a
country block, so it's a couple clicks. Here's the bit of gravel.
Driveway is last on the right, just before the stop sign. Mailbox says
"Belej" green number is 7387.
OR
If you were bold and took County Rd. 23 (I believe it's Waterloo 23):
Keep going for a ways. It'll turn into Wellington Rd. 21.
Turn right at Blondie's Lunch (Blondie's is actually on the other side
of the road, so turn before it!) This should be Sideroad 4.
Turn right onto Second Line. Pass the UofG Research Station (a bunch of
fields). Pass Ponsonby Park (the ball diamonds on the left), and take
the next road right. This will be Sideroad 14.
First driveway on the left.
>From Kitchener
I guess this all depends how adventurous you feel!
I usually take Bridge Street to Sawmill Road (I think at this point it's
Bloomingdale Road).
Drive through Bloomingdale, turn right onto St. Charles St.
You'll be on this road a while
Pass through Maryhill.
Turn right onto Crowsfoot (the intersection will have an all-way stop
sign, and will be just after a rather large gated building on the
right... Former Knights of Columbus building)
Follow the directions above.
OR
Go out Victoria Street into Guelph, turn left onto Line 86. Follow the
"From Guelph" instructions
>From Guelph
You have three options, depending where you are:
Line 86 (by the auto mall, near the Galaxy Cinema): Drive by the golf
course then turn right at the lights onto Wellington Rd. 51, follow the
above from that point.
Silvercreek Extension (by Woodlawn Bowl, Stampede Ranch.. There's a
Holiday Inn Express as well.)
Turn right at the end of the road (Wellington Rd. 51), take the first
left (there will be greenhouses on the right). This will be Second Line
E.
It gets a bit bumpy about a kilometer up the road. Drive until you see
the first 4-way intersection, then turn left. This will be Sideroad 14.
First house on the left.
Highway 6 towards Fergus:
Left onto Wellington Rd. 7 (The "Elora Road").
Left at Ponsonby School (will be on the right). This will be Sideroad
14. Go through the first stop sign, first house on the left.
>From Toronto
Take the 401. Take the Highway 6 North exit (ie: the Hanlon
Expressway). Take it to the end, then turn right onto Woodlawn Rd.
Turn left onto Silvercreek Extension/County Rd. 39. Follow the above.
Anywhere else
You should have enough information to get there from somewhere else, or
you've passed close enough by to find your way. If you have questions,
just email me back and I'll try to whip you up some directions.
Cheers,
Pete

Subject: [Garden] Herb Workshop - July 15th @ 6:30pm
Hello Gardeners,
Before I forget the herb workshop is still a go for tomorrow night
(Wednesday, July 15th) at 6:30pm. I was thinking of heading to the
garden for 6pm and if there are a few people that would like a ride I
can take up to 3 people. Pete is going to email directions to the
place for others that would like to meet us there. Their house is in
the country so unless you are super keen to bike you should plan on
driving.
As for inviting friends and others, the response I got was the more the
merrier!
Best,
Candace
