I called G-Tel and then the locates line today. It turns out that
locates are only good for 30 days. There are indeed additional locates
that need to be done.

I put in a request to have the locates redone. I told the people that
we would have the area staked out with stakes with white flags
attached, and that we would do this on Wednesday afternoon. Was I
lying? Will it be possible for us to mark the proposed fence area on
Wednesday? Can we get some white flags (maybe marked LOCATE on them)?

Our Community Garden ID number is 117660.

Our ticket number is 9232420.

This call sends a message to the following places:
  - Bell Canada (via G-Tel)
  - Union Gas (via G-Tel -- this is what we had done last year)
  - City of Waterloo
  - Region of Waterloo

These locates should be done a week Tuesday.

I have included the ticket e-mail I got below.

There are additional locates that need to be done:

- Waterloo North Hydro needs to be done. When I called them they gave
me two options. We could either fax them a map that clearly
indicates where we want the locates done, or we could arrange to
meet the locator in person. (At the time I called the next available
meeting was 8:15am on Friday or 9:00am on Friday).

I don't know if we have a road map with the garden location clearly
indicated. But I can't meet on a Friday morning either. Can somebody
  help?

- It looks like Rogers Cable TV is another place we need to get done.
I have not called them. The number is 1-800-738-7893.

There may be more locates that need to be done. The people at One Call
suggested that I call City Hall in Waterloo to find a canonical list,
but I have not done that yet.

I know that we are chomping on the bit to get the fencing up before
the groundhogs get to chomping on our peas and lettuce. But given that
our previous locates expired I would be most comfortable if we got
this locate process done and then get things cleared with Plant
Operations. When I was on the phone the lady seemed to suggest (but
did not say explicitly) that even a chickenwire fence should be
located.

- Paul
