In 2007 the last frost was May 20, and there was a frost warning in
June. I don't remember what happened in 2008 -- I vaguely remember
that our tomatoes and/or peppers had a near-miss. 

I don't think we can eliminate the potential for frost entirely. I am
tempted to say that we do the planting before your vacation, but I
think there is a good chance we will face frost danger. 

Another factor to consider is whether we want to raise beds and/or do
fencing before we plant. (I think it would be nice, but I am not sure
we have the time.)
