Hello everyone,

WPIRG is currently in the planning stage of two exciting initiatives:

First, we are hosting a School of Public Interest, a weekend-long
'conference' style event from January 22-24. The theme which is
evolving is "Creative Activism".

Second, we would like to have a "teach-in" series, discussions about
a specific topic (or group of interrelated topics) with someone (like
a professor) who speaks about the subject. This is followed by open
discussion and often direct action.

We would like your input and your involvement:

In the coming weeks, myself and a fellow WPIRG board member, Rachel,
would like to attend one of your meetings to discuss with you
potential for your action group to be involved in the planning and
carrying out of both of these projects. It is possible that your
action group could host (or co-host with another action group) a
teach-in or an element of the School of Public Interest. Also, we
would just like to begin to get everyone thinking about cool ideas to
really make these events effective and exciting.

Please let me know a meeting time when this would be possible to us
to stop by. We will not need too much time, 10 minutes to introduce
the topic, then we can go and let you discuss possibilities, or we
could stay and have that discussion then. Up to you as a group.

Thank you kindly, and keep up the great work!

Jon
