Hi Candace Wormbecker and others interested in a food dehydrators and pressure cookers.<div><br></div><div>The dehydrators that have been mentioned by some of you are made of poly plastic trays, it is better to have a stainless steel food dehydrators since it is healthier than the toxic plastic, synthetic material trays. I found one that is stainless steel in the Healthy Directions Magazine in the Aug/Sept. 2009. It is found in the Shopping Guide section the address is <a href="http://www.YourTheCure.com" target="_blank">www.YourTheCure.com</a>, their number is 1 888-887-8822, no PSTax right now.</div>
<div><br></div><div> It has adjustable thermostat, and various sizes of drying capacity. It has 5, 10,14 shelf models. </div><div><br></div><div>Also Presto Pressure cooker now makes their pot in aluminum but they still have a stainless steal pots. Aluminum pressure cookers are
not healthy because of the high aluminum leaching which has been linked to early Alzheimer disease and other toxicity. </div><div><br></div><div>Better to buy the Presto stainless steal pressure cooker, and the a dehydrator made of stainless steal frame and trays. <br>

<div>Thanks Candace. What's the advantage of a pressure canner over a
regular canning pot? Also, regarding a dehydrator, this is all I found
locally:</div>

<blockquote type="cite">I have a Presto pressure canner from Canadian
tire that I am very happy with. I think it was just over $100 (it was a
gift so I'm not quite sure). A large canning pot and utensils can also
be purchased at Canadian Tire fairly cheaply (<a rel="nofollow" href="http://www.canadiantire.ca/AST/browse/8/KitchenBath/KitchenStorage/CanisterSets/PRD%7E0422501P/7-jar%2BCanner.jsp" target="_blank"><span></span>http://www.canadiantire.ca/AST/browse/8/KitchenBath/KitchenStorage/C<span></span>anisterSets/PRD~0422501P/7-jar%2BCanner.jsp</a>).<br>
<br>I
don't own a dehydrator but I did do some research a while back and I believe
the Excalibur dehydrator was rated fairly high and is quite popular - <a rel="nofollow" href="http://www.everythingkitchens.com/excalibur.html" target="_blank"><font face="Tahoma" size="-1"><b>http://www.everythingkitchens.com/article-food-dehydrators.html</b></font></a><font face="Tahoma" size="-1">. else know?<br><br>Candace<br></font></blockquote>
